The Practice
Built because the industry
was getting it
backwards.
Origin
Dendro started with a simple observation: marketing teams have more content to produce than they have time to produce it — and the tools that exist either produce volume without structure, or require expertise most teams don't have.
The idea was to build a production system that worked the way content should work — starting from a topic map, not a keyword list. Every article mapped to an entity. Every internal link specified before the article is written. Every deliverable packaged so a marketing team can publish it without rebuilding it first.
Anyone can produce content. Almost nobody produces a content system. That gap is where Dendro operates.
The name is deliberate. Dendrochronology — the study of tree rings — is the science of reading time, growth, and environmental history through cross-sections of wood. Every ring is a year. Every year tells a story about conditions, stress, and compound growth. Topical authority works the same way: it accumulates layer by layer, and the brands that build it deliberately are significantly harder to displace than the ones that didn't.
We built this for the marketing teams that know they need content at scale, know the quality bar has to be real, and just need someone to run the production system so they can focus on everything else.
How We Work
A few things
worth knowing
upfront.
- —
We tell you if it won't work
Semantic SEO is not the answer to every traffic problem. If your challenge is conversion rate, brand awareness, or a product the market doesn't search for — we'll tell you that in the first conversation. We don't take engagements we can't win.
- —
We work with a small number of clients
We run six active engagements at a time. That's a deliberate constraint. Topical authority work requires deep familiarity with your business, your competitors, and your content. You can't do that for forty clients simultaneously.
- —
We build in public where we can
The Insights section is where we document what we're learning — about semantic SEO, how Google's understanding of content is evolving, and the architecture decisions that keep working. If it's useful to you, use it.
- —
The methodology is the product
We're not selling you deliverables. We're selling you a system of thinking — one that changes how you make every content decision going forward. The best outcome of working with us is that you don't need us anymore.
